- Navigating the Excel interface: Ribbon, Tabs, and Quick Access Toolbar
- Data entry and formatting essentials
- Cut, copy, paste like a pro
- Setting up address lists
- Creating tables and applying styles
- Building a basic budge
- Using the fill handle and moving data
- Creating simple charts and graphs
- Adding cell color, borders, and preparing your worksheet for printing
Advanced Excel
Already comfortable with the basics? Go further with advanced techniques.
- Perform mail merges for labels and personalized letters
- Create budgets using formulas and functions
- Design advanced charts and graphs
- Work with pivot tables to analyze and summarize data
- Master advanced printing and file-saving options

Instructor Information
Kara Juillerat holds a Computer Science 7-12 teaching license and has over 20 years of experience teaching technology courses. Southern Hills CTC employs her as a middle school satellite IT instructor at Eastern Brown Middle and High Schools. Kara holds certifications in Microsoft Office Specialist and Google Suite Specialist. She believes in making learning computer application skills fun and meaningful by incorporating ice breakers, team-building activities, and project-based learning. In 2019, she was named Brown County Teacher of the Year.
Kara holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Studies from Northern Kentucky University, with concentrations in marketing and communications, and a Master's degree in Education Administration from Xavier University. She believes in being a lifelong learner professionally and personally. She is currently a member of the Computer Discoveries cohort, part of the Ohio STEM Learning Network, in partnership with Battelle Learning and Code.org. Kara is also involved in the Ohio Code Scholar Program with her robotics club students and is a committee member for The Little State STEAM.
